Coach Kodama has been coaching soccer for over 25 years. Starting at the youth level, he has led teams in recreation, club, high school, and collegiate level. He has also been involved with soccer as a clinician, running soccer camps and participating in a variety of soccer projects. Mr. Kodama has a national diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and a license from the United States Soccer Federation. Mr. Kodama has a B.A. from California State University, Northridge and currently is the director of admissions, marketing,

and public relations at Crespi Carmelite High School.

 

Coach Kodama took over the girls varsity soccer program at John Burroughs High School in 1990 when it was in its second year. He led the program for 5 years. His teams won the only league championship for the girls soccer program. He was voted the Foothill league coach of the year in 1993-94. At Crespi Carmelite High School, he has been the boys Varsity coach for the past 20 years. He took over a program that had not qualified for playoffs in over 10 years and has consistently led them to the playoffs in what is considered one of the most difficult leagues in Southern California. He has led the team to the CIF quarterfinals 3 times, and has led the program to its only Mission League Soccer Championship in the schools history. Crespi Carmelite High School is the only boys soccer team in Southern California to achieve the National Soccer Coaches Associations (NSCAA) All-Academic Team Award for 9 consecutive years in a row. His players have gone on to play at many junior colleges and universities. This includes 1 NSCAA California Player of the Year, 2 NSCAA All-Americans, 6 NSCAA Regional All-Americans, 2 NSCAA Academic All-Americans, 5 NSCAA Academic All-Regional Team, 20 All-CIF, 10 League Player of the Year award winners, 2 of his former players are on the USA Beach National Soccer Team, and has had 2 players drafted in the Major League Soccer Draft.

 

Coach Kodama is the founder and director of K-Sports Soccer Camps. He has been conducting soccer camps for over 20 years throughout the region.

 

Coach Kodama has been the Director of Admissions, Marketing and Public Relations at Crespi Carmelite High School for the past 10 years.
